Salman khan born on 27 December in the house of Salim khan and Salma khan. his ancestor is from Afganistan.he has two brothers named Arbaaz khan and Sohail khan. he has also two sisters Arpita and Alvira khan.

Salman finished his schooling at St. Stanislaus High School in Bandra, Mumbai. He studied at The Scindia School, Gwalior for a few years along with his younger brother Arbaaz. He has attended St. Xavier's College in Mumbai but dropped out.

Salman khan debuted in Biwi ho to aisi as supporting actor. His actual breakthrough came from Maine Pyaar Kiya which became a blockbuster. he received the best male debutant award for this film.
